‘An intellectual gallery in the sky’ was the design concept behind this penthouse apartment’s interior. Layers of materials have been explored evoking a sense of privacy, security and warmth. This layered language has been implemented through the use of extensive joinery, rail detailing and a series of wooden venetian blinds, which allow filtered harbour views.
Bespoke joinery was developed throughout the home in order to display an extensive African artefact collection. The client’s existing furniture was refurbished in order to complement the new residence, while maintaining a sense of history and continuity with the owner’s former home.
The master suite features detailed bespoke joinery that encases the room. Birdcage-inspired bedsides frame the four-poster bed, while operable shutters form the bedhead allowing postcard harbour views from the raised bath in the en suite situated behind.
Work list: bespoke joinery, four-poster bed design, furniture refurbishment, soft furnishings, interior finishes, decorative and artwork consultation, lighting, bathroom floor plan, finishes and equipment specification, internal door design, custom-made security gates, guest clothing production
